For rights holders — takedown requests

If you own (or represent the owner of) a copyrighted work and believe it appears on karaoki without authorization, send a written notice to our designated agent:

karaokiapp@gmail.com

We acknowledge every notice within 24 hours and act on valid requests promptly — typically within 1–2 business days.

What karaoki is

karaoki is an educational vocal practice utility. It lets users practice singing: we separate the instrumental backing of a track and synchronize lyrics word-by-word so a singer can rehearse against the song. Processed audio is generated on demand for a user's own practice session and is not redistributed or made publicly downloadable as a music product.

We take copyright seriously. We do not claim ownership of any song, recording, or lyric processed through the service, and we do not sell or license the audio produced from it.

Filing a takedown notice (DMCA § 512)

To request removal of content you believe infringes your copyright, send an email to karaokiapp@gmail.com that includes all of the following:

  • Your full legal name, mailing address, and email address;
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (a URL or catalog reference is ideal);
  • Identification of the infringing material and enough information for us to locate it (song title, room code, artist, and approximate date if known);
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf;
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

Incomplete notices may require follow-up before we can act. Please send the notice from an address that can verify you are the rights holder or an authorized agent.

What happens next

Upon receiving a complete, valid notice we will investigate and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the identified material as quickly as possible. We may also notify the user who uploaded or processed the content. Repeat or serious infringement can lead to content removal and termination of access for the responsible user.

Counter-notices

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to karaokiapp@gmail.com containing: your name and contact details; identification of the material removed and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the US, an appropriate local jurisdiction); and your signature. We will process counter-notices in accordance with the DMCA.

Good-faith use & user responsibility

Users may only process tracks they have the right to use for personal practice. By using karaoki you agree to our Terms of Service and confirm that your practice use is personal, non-commercial, and educational. If you believe you hold the rights to content on the platform, or need to report abuse of your work, contact us at the address above.
